Naked Kiss awarded Best Cosmetic 2006
May 2006 Naked Kiss Instant Plumping Collagen Lip Treatment has been awarded Best Cosmetic Product in the PostScript Health & Beauty Awards 2006.

As a relative newcomer to the beauty world, having only launched in Australia in 2005, Naked Kiss beat a host of beauty players in the most hotly contested category of the Awards – Best Cosmetics.

Special guest presenter at the Awards ceremony, industry icon Michael Edwards, in introducing the awards, said: “In judging the entries for the Awards we have selected winners that may be surprising as they are not necessarily huge brands but ones that we feel are innovators that stand out and are ones to watch in terms of brands that have the potential to be future brand leaders.”

PostScript publisher David Weston said of Naked Kiss: “This is a well supported cosmetic range that’s packaged well and looks snazzy. A great concept—it works!”

Naked Kiss was created by Marita Taberman Coccaro in 1998.Beverly Hills-based Marita noticed Hollywood’s obsession with plumped-up lips courtesy of collagen and set out to develop a range of lipsticks that provided plumping on application using natural ingredients. Naked Kiss launched and created a storm as women embraced the concept of instant plumping gratification via a lipstick housed in gorgeous and stylish silver, jewel encrusted case with a pop up mirror. Major cosmetic houses soon followed her lead launching their own lip plumping lipsticks and an entire new cosmetic category of lip plumpers was born.

But not all plumpers are created equal. With the explosion of lip plumping products on the market, Fox News in the US featured a segment on lip plumpers and do they really work? They trialled 5 of the leading lip plumping lipsticks and Naked Kiss came out


number 1 in terms of its amazing plumping action to help create the perfect full pout. Of the five products tested only 2 of the 5 were deemed to have any plumping effectiveness!

Total Beauty Network’s (TBN) CEO Tony Rechtman discovered Naked Kiss whilst based in LA and decided to bring the brand to Australia to launch. It was launched in 2005 and is now in 400 pharmacy and Priceline stores nationally.
